Update on Julie

Julie had her surgery today.  Her husband, sister and daughter were there, and my oldest sister, Dee, was with her as well.  Dee called Mom a while ago to say that Julie is in recovery.  The surgery went well, but they were not able to get all of the cancerous lymph nodes.  I do not know why.  They removed all that they could and removed the cancerous breast.  She was still asleep when Dee called.  In six weeks she will start chemo.  I will call to get an update on her tomorrow.  I am curious to know why they couldn't all the lymph nodes.

Lori,
Only the doctors can answer that question of the lymph nodes. So harass them for a proper answer.

So sorry to hear they were unable to remove all the cancerous lymph nodes. I pray that the chemo will take care of the rest. My prayers are w/ you , Julie and her family.

Big hugs

So glad that she is looking to recover now. Perhaps her husband can ask the doctors for more details about why they could not get all the cancerous lymph nodes. She will need everyone's support during chemo. She is in our prayers. Bea

It will depend on her particular situation but, it could be as simple as the surgery took longer than expected and the needed to get done for her own safety. They may feel that the chemo and radiation will destroy what is left. Julie is in our prayers. Regards, Bill.
