I was sad to see in AOL News that Yvonne DeCarlo, best known for her role as Lily Munster, died Monday at the age of 84. I never watched The Munsters a lot, only occasionally the reruns, but I did like DeCarlo in several of her movie roles; in particular McClintock! and Oscar. I especially loved her voice.
I had forgotton that she played Moses' wife in The Ten Commandments, until the article reminded me. And that brought up something interesting. The name of Moses' wife, in any translation of the Bible I've ever read, was Zipporah. The name given in this article is Sephora. So I checked, and sure enough, the character of Moses' wife in the movie is listed as "Sephora", according to IMDb. Is this a mistake by IMDb, or is that how the character's name is spelled in the actual movie credits? And if it is, why did they change it from Zipporah? Just curious.

I didnt know that was her in the Ten Commandments....I had only one quibble from that movie..just one....actually it goes along with snow white...but it was the scene where she confronted Pharoahs wife and talked to her about the rumors of her porcelin skin,,,lol....As a kid, I remember thinking..."Dont feel that way. Your hot too." lol....Old Hollywood, yah know...considering no-one born with the Middle Eastern blood has porcelin skin.....OK..done with my rant....~Raven
I was sad as well. I loved her work! She was such a wonderful actress and so beautiful lady. Saddly missed.

In the King James version of the Bible, some names were rather mis-translated: Jehovah, for instance, has since been translated "Yahweh" or something like that. Maybe Zipporah is a mis-translation.
Never cared for Munsters.
She was a marvelous actress. I've been watching The Ten Commandments every year around Easter (or Passover!) for years since I was little. When we were watching The Munsters later on, I couldn't stop giggling when my mom told me Lily Munster and Moses's Wife (however it's spelled) were played by the same person. A paradox in a little kid's mind.
The name difference is probably due to various translations of the bible.
