This week has seemed to drag on for me. It is a gorgeous day, though, although not as warm as it was on Monday. I had some sort of a bug over the weekend. I made a very fifties-American-housewife-type-meal Saturday night of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, and rolls, and then I couldn't eat any of it!
I was over the worst of it by Monday, but I still didn't feel very energetic until today. Last night I made a sumptious elk roast. That was the first night I really felt like eating much.
Does anyone else out there sautee mushrooms and then sit and eat them like candy??
I sauteed some for the roast last night, and after they were ready and I put them in a dish to wait till time to add them to the roast, I started snacking on them while I was cooking. I ended up eating about half of what I had fixed, so I had to slice and sautee some more!
Well, I hope everyone has had a good week so far. I know there have been some deaths in J-land this past week, and others are having other problems with health and other issues. I hope that everyone can find some enjoyment in today, and take advantage of whatever good there is in your life right now.

I love mushrooms..what does elk taste like..
Meatloaf is something I rarely fix, but I love a good one.
Hope you feel better.
Oh, yes. I love sauted mushrooms, and I too will eat and eat them. Good thing I always make more than I think I'll need...so I can pig out on them! I am glad you got over the bug in time to eat that roast. I am not sure if I have ever had elk roast, but my dad was a hunter and he brought home elk all the time. I am sure I did. Jae
That 50's meal is just the food that makes everyone happy...great meal. Hope your week goes well..yes, there's a lot of sad people in j-land, I am one, but trying, like you said to find good in the day...hugs,

You dinner sounds very yummy! Yeah....sauteed mushrooms are like candy to me. OMG butter, garlic, and sauteed mushrooms are like heaven to me. LOL!

Yes, I sautee mushrooms and eat them right away! I love to saute them in butter, and brown them until they are just right. I let them cool just slightly, then pop them into my mouth... oh they are so good, but i usually have to eat them alone because my husband does not like mushrooms. When I buy them, I know I will be eating them myself... so I don't buy them too often. I do love slicing the big fresh ones first... oh so tasty! I've never had elk roast before, though. And your american meal is typical in my house as well... actually, not lately, but when my son was living with us, while he was still a kid and all, we had the typical american fare every night. My husband loves meatloaf and mashed potatoes, with pinto beans and a roll. BTW, thanks for coming by and visiting my journal, and leaving a comment... I am better now thank you!! it's always good to hear from you, Lori. Bea
