Pomp and Circumstance

Just a quick note today, since I haven't posted in so long.

Tomorrow is high school graduation, so we have been super busy for the past few weeks.  Two of Andrew's friends are also having their grad parties tomorrow afternoon.  One of them is friend C who Andrew talked out of quitting school -- one of my favorite "Andrew" stories.  Prosser's (tech school) graduation is next week as well.  Andrew will finally be finished with school (until college in the fall).  That's one down and one to go!  I feel like I've accomplished something!!

Eler Beth and I are finishing up her classes as well.  I'm planning on doing some school work through the summer, too, though, although not every subject and not every day.  I'm planning a two-week reading/compositon unit toward the end of June, and we're going to do a two-week math unit toward the end of July.  Then we'll do a quick social studies review and start her 7th grade proper in August.  I'm planning on some two-week breaks throughout the fall and winter.  Oh yes, I'm just so very organized for seventh grade all ready.  I'm so proud of myself.  I hope we can stick with our schedule and zip her right through.

I'll try to post a pic of Andrew soon.  He's picky about what pictures I can or cannot post of him, so we'll see what he allows! lol

Today's salute goes out to Shawinigan, Quebec, Canada, population 51,904, approximately 1,188 miles from me --

Sa-LUTE!

Hey Lori. I was thinking of you earlier and hoping all was well. I hope the graduation goes well and  a wee message for Andrew....You are a remarkable young man with such a kind and caring heart. To think of others, and go out of your way to have helped your friend the way you did means that now he can have a real chance at a decent future and It Is all thanks to you. That story was amazing. Well Done Andrew. Have a brilliant time, you deserve It. Love Pam xx

I hope everything goes off without a hitch, Lori!

I loved the story about your son and his friend. He probably changed the kid's life for the better.

Enjoy the weekend!

Graduation Season has hit you guys we don't have anything like that as the school leaving age is 16(and were not considered drop outs), it must be hell to get organised for but fun once the big day arrives.

Enjoy the weekend

I remember all the hub bub around Bubba graduating last year.  Looks like I'll be back in the stands again this year cheering for his friend Brandon who is a straggler but finally made it.  ;o)  -  Barbara

Congratulations to Andrew and his friends.  And I think Mom's should get their own diploma, or certificate or something.  You do sound Ultra-Organized.  :)

Seventh grade was a terrible year for us with Nick and I often wish we were home schooling!!  Hats off to you for doing such a great job!!  I really don't like public schools too well.
Hugs,
Lisa

Congratulations to Andrew!  I do hope he enjoyed the parties and has a nice summer break before heading back to school.  I commend you on your homeschooling, it sounds as though you do such a great job with it.  I know a woman who homeschools her 3 children and they are never learning anything.  It is a shame, they readily admit she does very little with them.  It isn't doing them any favors in my opinion.  She should take a few lessons from you!
