Happy Hump Day

When I got up this morning to take Thomas to work at 4 a.m., Eler Beth woke up.  I suggested she go back to bed, but she assured me that she would not be able to do so.  She also let me know that she was very hungry and would love some French toast for breakfast.

So after dropping off Thomas I swung by Kroger to get a gallon of milk, because I remembered that I was almost out.  I spied a yellow sale sticker in front of the milk in the freezer case, and thought "oh goodie, it's on sale."

Yep.  On sale.  For $3.09.

How high is the price of milk going to go anyway?

Anyway, when I got home she was lying on the sofa, but she assured me that she was still awake.  So, being the WonderMom that I am I started preparing batter for French toast.  After I had two slices done I called her into the kitchen, asking how many she thought she'd like.  No answer.

Even now she is still asleep on the sofa.  Oh well, I put up the French toast for later, and saved the rest of the precious batter (??$3.09 for a gallon of milk??) for later as well.

Yes, still no Thomas' truck.  It was the fuel pump, and apparently it shorted out a relay of some sort.  D, our mechanic, fixed it (or rather one of his guys did), and we picked it up on Monday.  Thomas stopped, got gas, drove home; later I realized I had to run to the grocery for something and took his truck since it was parked in front of my car; drove to the store, got what I needed, tried to start the truck, and it did the exact same thing again!

So it's back at the mechanic's.  He's really swamped right now, so I don't know when he'll get to it; hopefully today.  He's a good mechanic, with reasonable rates, and he's never been stumped before.  I really hope it's something he can take care of because I know it will be more expensive if we have to go somewhere else.  In the meantime I'm taking Thomas to work and picking him up, and I still need to get my own car in to have some things looked at.

Well, I'm in the mood to journal today, so don't be surprised if you see a lot of me.

Ta for now.

I should of come to your house for breakfast - I was up at 4:45am with just me and my coffee. I am sure she will enjoy her frenching toast as soon as she wakes from her "I can't go back to sleep" rest!  I hope he (mechanic) is able to find the problem in a timely and inexpensive manner! Take care of you and yours!

I like your Meez. I made one and when I got it into my album it only had on a bikini bottom. lol Thats not me so I deleted it. It was too late to be doing it anyway. My husband and daughters loved french toast. I never liked it but made it for them with love. Paula

Very summery Meez, Lori. $3.09 for a gallon of milk? I think we pay about double for that, but we can only buy 1, 2 or 3 litre (that's 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 gallon) canisters.

Isnt it awful when the mechanic can't diagnose the problem?  Hopefully he will get it the second time around.  He will probably be just as relieved as you when he does.  I don't miss that aspect of cars and their breakdowns.  There are some things about public transportation that are worry free!   Gerry
