We were waiting for the cable guy yesterday (he actually came on time!), and when Andrew motioned toward the window and said, "He's here," Eler Beth walked up to the window to watch him get out of his truck.
"Yep, he's here. He looks kinda young."
Later, after he left, she said, "I liked him. He was a nice guy." Pause, then a little confidentially to me, "And he's kinda cute, too!"
Oh my goodness, what am I going to do with her? She's not even 12! She's been having crushes since she was in kindergarten! I guess I should just be glad she tells me about them.
Once in the second grade her class had fourth graders come in to read to them. She told me about the boy who read to them, and then said, "He was a fourth grader, Mom. And Mom, he was cuter than a button!"

I suppose it'll only get worse, Lori :-)
haaaaaa, cute is a good word to use.....beats "sexy" which kids use nowadays and I HATE that word.
Oh your daughter is the cute one!!! My daughter rarely mentions thinking that boys are cute. But I pay attention when she does!

I'm glad ElerBeth confides in you. My daughter I wasn't sure how she felt about boys until she was 17. At one point I was beginning to wonder which side of the fence she was batting for. She is now moving in with her bf at 19 so that point at least resolved itself. (Hugs) Indigo
It is unsettling to behold one's daughter liking boys and I don't think it gets any easier when they get older. My daughter Ronda had a child out of wedlock in college, so when I decided that her new boyfriend after Jamal grew up a little was not reliable I got very alarmed. She did not believe my suspicions but found out all too soon they were right, he was being unfaithful to her. But she would get mad as the dickens if I questioned her because she said she was old enough to assess her own risks. I said I can't help but be alarmed because I have been your baby sitter and surrogate other parent for this child! I would feel stark fear about her possibly getting pg again with a bad prospect as the first father turned out to be. Gerry
My little Bug has crushes too. On TV people. On some real people. I remember my first crush was on Jack Lord in the role of "Stony Burke". He was a rodeo cowboy. I think I was 7 or 8. ;o) - Barbara
