The sky is very bright out there tonight. How do I know? Because Eler Beth and I just made a run to White Castle.
I know. I know. But once in a while you've just gotta have one, you know? And cheese fries. Mmmmm.
Eler Beth's friends found a dog today. It looks like a sheltie or collie mix -- looks like a fox, actually. The little thing is bony as can be, but he wasn't dehydrated and his eyes are bright and clear. He's very good natured and interested in things. Hopefully they'll find a home for him or take him to a no-kill shelter. He's a young dog, but not a puppy.
I've been missing my husband lately! He has been working so much, and even when he's home he gets calls from work. He got in about 6:30 this evening, and within an hour a friend came by to see the snapping turtle. (That's the third man who's made a special trip here just to see Bowser!) Then he got three work-related phone calls in a row, and just as we were getting settled in to bed, Eler Beth ran down the hall carrying Thomas' work cell and tossed it to him. He was being called on the two-way. He took the phone, grinned at me and said, "It's my OTHER wife." Ah well.
He likes to be this busy though; it won't last forever, and in the meantime it means lots of overtime and double time. He's having to help cover first and second shifts right now because they are short on QC guys. Also there is one department that's running a third shift, and that's who was calling on the radio. He's asleep now, and I'm sitting here TRYING to get sleepy.
I can't believe how nice our weather has been. We have had less humidity than usual, cool, fall-like mornings, and bright sunshine. We're supposed to get some rain Monday and Tuesday, and we do need it.
Wow! There's a commercial on right now for something called Mighty Mendit. Has anyone ever tried it? I might have to. Eler Beth has a dress that has a little rip in the overskirt. It is very thin material and I was wondering what I could possibly do to mend it because she really likes the dress. Wonder if Mighty Mendit would work. I may have to give it a try. It's a good thing I'm not watching the Home Shopping Network right now. I'm watching a movie with Louis Gossett, Jr. and Jonathon Silverman on Hallmark Channel. It's pretty good.
Guess I'd better go now though. This is getting pretty boring. Not boring enough to make me sleepy, but still boring.

It's been a great Aug. in Kansas also. Hope you find a good home for the dog. Anne
Sorry that hubby is working so much, but glad he is getting the OT :o)
My husband Mel worked like that all time too but he liked to work. I remember him even getting a call on Christmas. I had to learn to like my own company and sometime I would go with him and sit in the truck and read. The little dog is cute and it does remind me of a fox. Paula
Mmm, Sliders! LOL That brings back some college memories! We actually don't have a White Castle around here, can you believe that? Not that we eat out often, but you're right, sometimes those little babies can taste really good!
Since we've been back from vacation, I've been amazed at the mild weather we've been having. This does not feel like an Indiana August at all. But we also need some rain, and I hope we all get some soon!
Hope Thomas's job lets up soon, but OT can sure pad the paycheck!

I woke up to that beautiful moon about 30 minutes ago, shining right in my eyes through the bedroom window. :)
I only had White Castle once, when I lived in Ohio.
We've had some nice days here in Michigan, but heard it's due to warm up this next week.

The full moon was so beautiful last night. Sorry you couldn't sleep. I hate that. Do you have Krystals? Similar to White Castle.

We had an lunar eclipse last night, but it ended some 4 or 5 hours before you saw the moon at all
I never did see a picture of that turtle....
God bless!
Amanda
I didn't see the full moon. We've been so sick since Saturday.
I love White Castle's. We do not have them but we do have Krystle's which I love as well.
I'd miss my husband terribly if he was gone that much but I understand a man's got to do what a man's got to do.
I haven't heard of Mighty Mendit but I'll google it out of curiosity. I try to stay away from HSN. The last time we had on a show like that, DIRK is the one who gave in to temptation.
Hugs to you all,

My favorite is Butterfinger. And I have a dessert recipe that
uses crushed Butterfinger candy bars on the topping. Yum!
My late husband loved White Castles. I always think of him
when they are mentioned. And many other times, also.
That sure is a cute dog. When he gets mended up, he
will be a good pet, and his owner will miss the messy
puppy stage. Is Eler Beth still journaling? If so, I don't think
I have put her on alerts yet. I meant to. Pat
Glad your hubby is keeping busy xx Bless that poor doggy :(
