Today I am grateful for...

Friends with gardens!

We haven't put in a garden for three years now because we just don't have the time for it.  But some friends of ours sent over all kinds of goodies:  tomatoes, green tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, turnips, cantaloupe, green beans, egg plant, and I'm probably leaving something out.  I love fresh garden produce.  My sister sent us home with a bunch of red potatoes last weekend, too.

I'm also glad journal alerts are back up.  I think I've gotten to everyone now and not missed any entries.  I plan to write more tomorrow, but for now, I'm off to bed.  Hope everyone has a great weekend!

surely a good thing to be thankful for :)

Not a gardener myself but always enjoy when someone shares with me. I never have had freshly grown eggplant though; must taste really good

enjoy the weekend

Well, when we first built our home, and started planning the yard and landscaping, we decided a garden would be nice. We grew green peppers, jalapeno peppers, and tomatoes. Did that for a couple of years. It was great having fresh tomatoes to eat during the summer and fall. But now I rely on other people's gardens... still love those tomatoes fresh off the vine. There is nothing like vegetables grown in one's backyard, or one's neighbor's back yard.  I'm glad alerts are back up, too. Thanks for visiting me today!  Bea

enjoy those veggies! My dad always had a vegetable garden growing up; I didn't realize how much I would miss that when I left. All those fresh vegetables; eggplant..yum!!! Enjoy! and have a wonderful weekend.

I miss having a garden. My hubby and I always had one, but now, since we've retired and are living in a over 50 apt. complex, it's out of the question. Still..we manage to find time to hit all the roadside fruit and vegetable stands. Nothing tastes as great as homegrown, right?
