Autumn Just Around The Corner

There was a nice chill in the air this morning when I took Eler Beth to school.  It is 55° right now at 9:09 a.m., and I believe the high temp today is supposed to be 69°.  I love this kind of weather!  It is sunny right now, and I have opened some windows to let the fresh air blow through the house.

Andrew is home sick today.  He woke up about 6 a.m. throwing up.  He doesn't have a fever, and he's napping right now.  I think he'll be fine.  It doesn't take as much out of me when he is home sick, because he doesn't require constant "comfort" from me like Eler Beth does.  I don't begrudge her that, though, because I remember all the little special ways that my mother used to comfort me when I was sick.

Well, I "crashed" on Saturday, finally, at about 4 p.m.  I slept until about 10 p.m., got up for 30 minutes and then went back to bed.  Sunday was a nice peaceful day, and then yesterday I really didn't do much of anything.  I feel like this cold/flu/whatever that we've all had is finally leaving us alone (despite Andrew's stomach troubles this morning).  Maybe it'll get cold enough to finally kill off all of those particular germs.

Now that the weather is changing my mind is turning toward planting some bulbs for Spring.  I want a few more daffodils in the front yard, and Eler Beth wants some more calla lillies;  hers did so well last year.

ISTEP testing is going on this week and next for Eler Beth.  ISTEP is Indiana's benchmark test.  So she's taking healthy snacks (brain food) to school each day, homework is a little lighter, and bedtime is a little earlier.  She is also in the middle of her hunter's safety course this week, preparing for the test on Thursday, so she can participate in the youth hunt this weekend.

I guess my plans for the day include the everlasting laundry and a little housework; more than a little really, because, as I said, yesterday was very non-productive.  I've finally caught up on journal alerts, so I planto stay ahead of the game if possible, and will be visiting journals again a little later.  I'll probably post again as well.

I hope everyone has a great day and that your weather where you are is as mild and comfortable as it is here.  Have a good one!

When it starts to get cooler I sure feel better. I'll be interested to see what pictures you take to show us of the fall foliage by you. Hope the testing goes well for Eler Beth and that Andrew is OK. My Regards, Bill

I sure wish we were having nice cooler weather like you are.  Still summerlike here in CA.  I hope Andrew feels better.  No fun to be sick.
Glad you had a good day yesterday. I did too. Basically a day to recharge.  We all need those.
Have a good day today, too!
