Ask Me, Part Four

Katie gave me a couple of really hard ones:

"Here are my (3):

1). If the walls in your home could talk what would they be saying?  Paint Us!!  Seriously!  I really need to do some interior painting!  Other than that, they'd tell me to get rid of some junk; they'd tell Eler Beth to slow down a little; they'd tell Andrew to get outside more; and they'd tell Thomas that he needs a day off from work!

2). If you were to make a movie of your life ~ What would you name it and who be play the starring role (you)?  I have no idea!!  A movie of MY life?  How about "A Comedy Of Errors"?  No, wait, Shakespeare already took that one, didn't he?  Hmmm.  Maybe "Live and Learn"??  Who would play me?  Probably some unknown actress.  Playing me would be her big break-out role.  Hah!

3). What is your favorite comfort thing?  I'm not sure how to answer this.  If I need comfort for something serious that's going on, spending time with Thomas is my favorite comfort thing.   He can usually help me stay calm and relaxed.  Sometimes I need the comfort of being with my mom and my sisters.   I call that needing some "Dowell Girls" time.  I also find comfort in a good book, or a nice phone conversation with a good friend.  As for comfort food, it would have to be a pasta dish of some sort, preferably a very cheesy one!  Spending an evening at home with just Thomas, Andrew, and Eler Beth, playing a board game or reminiscing about the kids when they were little is a peaceful thing, too.  I hope I've answered this one suitably.

Looking forward to your answers! Have a great day!
Katie

Phew!  That's three more down.

Thank you Donna for the graphic

I like your comfort things.  I agree with the getting some girl time in.  Away from the children!

Regarding comfort things: This year, I found comfort in the evenings (after every long and stressful day) by wrapping myself up in this very soft throw blanket someone gave us for Christmas. It's microsoft, lightweight, but oh the warmth it provides me. I curl up in the recliner and lay back until I fall asleep. Usually, a 20-30 minute nap such as it would allow me is all I need to get up, refreshed, and able to take care of any evening work (for the times I had to bring work home). Whenever I need warmth and security, when I'm feeling like I'm hanging on one day at a time, when I wonder "what madness has come over me?" that blanket really helps me to feel safe and nurtured in the physical sense. Sounds silly, like a little kid with his security blanket, which I never had as a kid, but I do find the way it envelopes me and surrounds me with softness, gentleness, caressing my skin... makes me feel like a little baby, snug in mama's arms. None of my other blankets have that sense of softness. I call it the Comfort Blanket, and it's never very far from the recliner or my computer chair. You answered the comfort question quite suitably, BTW! Bea

Loved your answers to some hard questions! For me if my walls could talk they would be saying "Stop climbing Me', to which I would inevitably reply "When you can deal with my day, your off the hook". There is something wrong with having a conversation with a wall isn't there??? Lol! (Hugs) Indigo
