My Mother Would Be Proud

I just gave Eler Beth a tube of chap stick to use to make a book marker.

I thought I was giving her a glue stick.

In case you're wondering, no, chap stick doesn't work like a glue stick.

It occurred to me again yesterday (and I may have mentioned this before) that when my mother was the age I am now, she was pregnant with me and had six kids at home from 17 years down to 5 years.  I cannot imagine!

In a couple of months I will be half my mother's age.

I hope I make it to her age, and if I do, I hope I'm as mentally and physically sound as she is!

What's even worse is that I actually opened it to make sure it had some in it.  It was purple, but I didn't think anything of that because they make glue sticks that are pink or purple!

My daughter brought me some (new to me) kind of chap stick in the hospital. It was real creamy. My lips were so chapped from dehydration. Anyway its okay to make a mistake like that. lol Paula

I'm the oldest of 6 my mother had my brother Joshua when she was my age. At the time I was pregnant as well..unfortunately I miscarried . Joshua is only 3 years older than my own daughter.
It was an easy mistake....I imagine Eler Beth was wondering why is was holding at first. (Hugs) Indigo

I am glad to know about the chapstick not working like glue.... LOL sounds like something I would do and it sounds like something I would try in a desperate situation as well.  LOL.  Wow your mom must be extra special and love all of her children so much!!  There is no greater calling for a woman than to be a wife and mother.
Hugs,
Lisa

I never thought about even trying to use chapstick instead of a glue stick but it's funny that you tried.  Sounds like something I would've done accidently too.  I was a mother of four by 25.  Ages 10 on down.  I'm still tired today.  What was I thinking?????? LOL

Oh my gosh...too funny!  My ex-mother-in-law put baby salve on my son's toothbrush by mistake once. ;)  C.

Be thankful you've never put Preperation H on your tooth brush. You keep your mind so active ~ I don't think your mind or body will fail you. Take care and enjoy,
Katie

Your mom sounds like a very strong lady.  I grew up an area that had no electricity or running water, and the two girls in my class came from families with 14 and 15 kids respectively.  I used to look at their mothers and think how on earth??  Sadly, the two mothers died, one in her fifties and the other in her early sixties, while the two fathers lived, one to 99 and the other 90 something.  So that told me having that many children was not that easy for a woman especially.  Gerry
