While reading journals this evening I overheard Eler Beth and her friend, B, discussing what a juke box is.
B was pretty sure that it's a machine you put a quarter in and a cd plays.
Eler Beth disagreed. "It was a machine way back in the olden days and you put in a quarter and the radio played."
I think I insulted both of them when I burst out laughing!

I made shellbeal4's porcupine meatballs last night, (see her comment from my Food Blahs entry) and they went over very, very well! Yummy! Served them on mashed potatoes with corn on the cob and hot, fluffy dinner rolls. Then I had tirimisu for dessert. Can we say "Mascarpone cheese"??? Mmmmmm. Yes, I know, I'm trying to lose weight, but my weight-loss plan does NOT include not eating what I want to eat. So there! (I'll just walk an extra mile tomorrow!)

In a related note, our Girl Scout Cookies came yesterday. Can we say "Samoas"??? Mmmmm.

I remember when Duke Boxes played actual records...lol, the meatballs sound nice and I love Tirimisu, and very easy to make, walking the extra mile should take care of it, but also try the 80/20 approach i.e have one day where you eat what you like..see no guilt..lol.
What are Samoas?
Take care

Pretty funny about the juke box. In all fairness CD's do look like minature records. Your food sounds divine. Anne
Of course to make it a bit more weight thoughtful, you can always use ground turkey meat. and i always rinse my ground beef after browning it. Glad they liked it... lol and yea my daughter has no clue what a juke box is either i dont think.. lol how funny!!

The dinner sounds good. That was cute about the juke box, LOL. I chuckled, though, when I read you were going to walk an extra mile and then the Samoas arrived. Better make that two miles, LOL. BTW, I'm a sucker for them, too.

Amber put in a request for hamburger something or other. I do not know what the name is, but I think I will make that for dinner tonight. Maybe I will break down and make some brownies as well.

HA! Too funny. Did you hear recently that '80's music is now, at least in the radio world, considered OLDIES? Ouch.
If you like, I'll send you a recipe I have for Amaretto Tiramisu. It's some good stuff....

Sounds yummy! I agree -- I'd much rather do extra exercise than deprive myself of good food. I just got a neat link to an online juke box today at work. I'll try to remember to forward it to my home email tomorrow. I'll send it to you when I do. Martha :-)
Spent a lot of time dancing to a jukebox at the Bulldog Snack Shack in my hometown in the 50's. Cute entry. Paula
Too funny! I would have never thought they would get rid of juke boxes! lol I bought 3 boxes of them peanut butter cookies and I think I ate most of them! Your dinner sounds really yummy! Have a wonderful week. Janie
Those girls are hilarious! I am not even going to address the food...but, dang! Jae
Ummmmm...Samoas are my favorite. I can eat a whole box.
That Eler Beth is priceless!!!
God bless-
Amanda
Out of the mouth of our youth....I love it (and feel old all over again) I would have laughed myself, really loud. My eldest just turned 16 years old this week and her and her friends entertain me all the time with their views on the world.
Thank you for sharing
Rebecca

I love girl scout cookies!
Robert and I fight over the thin mints!!!
love,
Michelle
Love the juke box descriptions!!! You made me smile!! Wow that dinner sounds absolutely delicious!!! I agree with you that one can diet and still eat a delicious dinner.... for me, I usually just have to be sure to get my workout in... which I did not do this week. But last week I did very well. Hopefully tomorrow I will get a good long workout to make up for what I missed. Hugs,
Lisa
Oh no...that would be "FROZEN Thin Mints", please. ;) C.
I think I would be laughing about the Jukebox too! If they only knew....Wait that kind of gives away my age....(Hugs) Indigo
