Catching Up A Bit

I have been unable to do much reading or journaling the past week or so.  I'm going to try to rectify that today.  Thomas will be working late.  School is out because of President's Day, and Eler Beth and I finished her lessons early, so Andrew has taken Eler Beth out for the afternoon.  He had a few errands to run and then is going to a friend's house to play some video games.  He offered to let Eler Beth go along -- I guess he's in a good mood today! lol  Actually he's pretty good about including her when he can.  This particular friend has been a childhood friend of Andrew's since early elementary school and is like one of the family, and I know Eler Beth will be fine with the two of them.  So I have my afternoon free until around 5:00.

The Extreme Makeover Home Edition episode last night was really good.  They did a wonderful job on the Hughes' home.  It was nice seeing familiar Louisville landmarks when the show first came on.

We had a fairly mild weekend, with the highs in the 60s yesterday.  Then last night the temps dropped down to the 20s and I think today the high is only going to be around 40°.  At least it isn't raining.

Well, I'm off to make some entries in my other journals and to do some reading and catching up with everyone.  I hope everyone has a great week.

I was going to watch the show and I totally forgot all about it. I think I was relaxing and reading my book. I'm off from work today for President's Day. I work at the High School.

As always you are getting back here just as I have to leave, LOL! I'm glad you were just busy and not ignoring me ;-) I've been on somewhat of a blogathon since Thursday night. I have another entry or two and then it's back to work tomorrow ::sigh:: Glad you're getting an afternoon free for your own little blogathon. Martha :-)

I feel all caught up now.  I was hoping we would get some real sledding snow this year.  But so far not happenin'.  The girls played in the "snow" last week.  Our temps have been all over the place.  Yesterday was 70.  Today in the 50s.

We also had very mild temps over the weekend...but today the winds are blowing and it's a lot colder out there. I always want to watch Extreme Makeover and I always forget to. They do a great job on those houses...I can't imagine what that experience would be like. I wonder if they would ever come to our little town...LOL....June:)

At first, I was going to be sarcastic and say, "60s, huh?" Because up here in PA it's FREEEEEZING, but you redeemed yourself. It got into the 20s. I shouldn't be so sarcastic; it was in the 60s up here for a morning and then got cold. It was so nice in those 60s!

I don't watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition, but what the heck, with your recommendation, I think I'll try it!

::smiling::  See?  Told ya I'd be around... ;o)

I'm glad the kids are doing well and staying busy with friends.  The weather has been crazy around here lately, too.  One day was in the 50s this week, with rain and even a rainbow blessed the sky.  Today, it was freezing and snowing all day...  I am SO ready for Spring.

Take care and have a great weekend!

It was really nice to see the Hughes' get such a great gift. They certainly deserve it! I was a little concerned about people not understanding why this was such a deserving family... people outside of this area don't know about all the work they have done with the Crusade, etc. But after reading the ABC forums I would say the country was touched by Patrick :) I have grown up hearing about him and seeing him around town playing his piano, and so I was very happy to hear that the Kentucky family that was chosen was his.

Hope you're doing well! Have a great week.

Hi Lori!

Thanks for visiting my journal and commenting. What a great surprise to visit yours and find another person who loves to read! My parents passed their love of reading on to me and my sisters, and it sounds like your goal is to do the same with your kids. I believe it's one of the best things anyone can do for a kid. My Dad always said, "I can go anywhere in the world when I read a book."

Take care,
Beth
